1) Renault Kwid (Rs. 2.64 –Rs 4.56)
The Renault Kwid has looks, style, and on-road presence. The car is small but it looks bulky like an SUV and stands out in the crowd. After its launch in 2015, the company has sold over 1.30 lakh unit. The introductory price of Kwid is Rs. 2.64 lakh and it is already giving strong competition to already established Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon. The car comes with several features and many variants like Kwid 1.0L, Kwid 1.0L AMT and Kwid Climber. You have the option to choose either 800cc Engine option or 1000cc Engine option in this car. The small engine produces 54bhp/72Nm and the 1.0L engine provides 68PS/91nm. The car comes in both Manual transmission and Automatic Transmission. 2) Tata Tiago (Rs 3.24 lakh – Rs 5.77 lakh)
Tata Motors recently launched its first car based on Impact design Philosophy. This philosophy is based on putting an impact on young people minds by providing attractive and different cars than they made earlier. This concept is designed to change the image of Tata cars that were mostly used as Cabs. The Tiago is doing very well and the company sold almost 50,000 unit of cars since its inception in April 2016. Tata Tiago also comes in an AMT variant to compete with Alto, Kwid, Celerio that also comes with AMT gearbox.
The Tiago petrol version is equipped with 1.2-litre Revotron Engine that produces 84bhp of power and 114Nm torque while the diesel version comes with 1.05-litre Revotorq engine and it provides 69bhp of power and 140Nm torque. The car has 5-speed manual transmission for both petrol and diesel version while the high-end model also comes with optional AMT transmission. The Hyundai Eon recently got a Sports Edition. This car comes with two engine versions that are 0.8 liter and 1.0 liter available only in petrol whereas the sports variant of the car only comes with 0.8-litre petrol engine.The sports edition also has a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and you have to pay an extra premium of Rs.16000 for Era+ variant and Rs.10000 for Magna+variant. This sports edition has sporty roof rails and graphics on the exterior whereas the interior has a touchscreen that can connect with Phone, USB, Aux, and Bluetooth.

4) Maruti Suzuki Celerio (Rs. 4.04 lakh – Rs. 5.00 lakh)
The Celerio is a nice and compact hatch that comes with revolutionary Auto Gear Shift(AGS) technology In India, this technology is a first in this segment and provides complete comfort and convenience to drivers in heavy traffic as well as helps to improve the mileage of the car. This is the only car in this segment that comes with three fuel options (Diesel, Petrol and CNG). From the launch of the car in 2014, the company has sold over 1.3 lakhs unit of Celerio all over India.
The car is equipped with a 1.0-litre engine that produces 68bhp with the three-pot motor. It gives you a mileage of 20.3kmpl in City and 22.5 kmpl on highways which is quite good.

5) Ford Figo (Rs. 4.53 lakh to Rs. 7.17 lakh)
Ford Figo Hatchback is one of the best selling car of Ford in India. The company recently upgraded both Figo and Aspire Models with the sporty touch. This sports edition comes with advanced suspension, larger 15-inch alloy wheels on both these models.
The Figo Sports edition is available with a 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol engine producing a power of 88 PS and mileage of 18.12 kmpl while 1.5 liter TDCi Diesel engine, producing a power of 100 PS and a superb mileage of 24.29 kmpl. Hyundai also upgraded its Grand i10 with new features and cosmetic changes.The upgraded version of Grand i10 has 1.2 liter Kappa Dual VVT petrol engine generating 81BHP of power and 113Nm torque whereas 1.2-litre diesel engine produces power of 73bhp and a maximum torque of 190NM. Both the petrol and diesel cars come with a five-speed manual transmission. The new Hyundai Grand i10 petrol version provides a mileage of 19.77kmpl and the diesel version provides 24.95 kmplof mileage.
From the front side, the new Grand i10 received some cosmetic changes like stylish radiator grille design, new bumpers and modern LED DRLs(Day time running lights) to provide the front a striking look. The rear part also received few changes with Dual tone bumper looks eye catchy, new reflectors, air curtain in front, new diamond cut alloys and wheel covers to add sporty looks to the car.
7) Maruti Suzuki Swift (Rs 4.90 lakh to Rs 7.62 lakh)
The new Swift 2017 will certainly attract your attention as it is still the most loved hatchback till date. The new Swift received some upgrades that look fresh. On the front, the car is provided with a front mask on the center of the large grill, LED lights for both front and rear, floating roof. The front and rear side get new bumpers, side under spoiler, and roof end spoiler.
The new updated version of Swift is based on a platform called Heartect that comes with 1.2 L DOHC VVT petrol engine to provide 90 BHP of power and 118Nm of Torque.
