M.Tech (Automobile Engineering)

It is a post graduate course which includes designing, operation and manufacturing automobiles. The students who aspire to do this must have passed B.E./B.Tech in automobile/ Industrial/ Production/ Manufacturing /Mechanical/ Mechatronics from a recognized university or college.

It is a two year programme to which entry is possible through an engineering entrance examination or a joint entrance examination. The average fee for the course might range between 1.5 lakh INR to 3.5 lakh INR.

Job roles

The students can get job profiles as automotive engineer, product development manager, corporate sales manager, service maintenance engineer, corporate sales manager etc.


The M.Tech students can join the sectors such as automobiles, aeronautical, and automotive sectors. The average salary package usually falls between one lakh to three lakh and increases with experience.

It is a programme which continues for three years as it is a doctorate level course and includes post graduation as an eligibility degree. The in-depth and the breadth of knowledge is available to the students through the intensive automotive tracks, technical minor, leadership and business trainings.

The students who wish to do this course must have passed the post graduate degrees like M. Phil in the relevant field or subject which is equivalent to the course with at least 50% marks in aggregate.  The common entrance examination of the university should have been passed as well.
