The auto industries in a bid to clear the inventory in the year end have fully geared up themselves up to offer whopping discounts to attract buyers in the market. From Tata Motors, Maruti to Audi and other auto makers along with their dealers are offering huge discounts ranging from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 8.85 laks in an effort to get rid of their inventory before arrival of 2018. Looking at the exciting offers, it is evident that the high level of inventory has been built up by the manufacturers. It is not only the cash discounts but also include many freebies like free insurance, exchange bonuses, loyalty bonuses, lower interest rates, free accessories, annual maintenance contracts at discounts, gold coin and even free EMI holiday offers. If one is willing seriously to take advantage of the year end offers without waiting for the label of the year 2018 on the model of their choice, this is definitely the time to buy a car. However, the buyers need to be vigilant and should conduct their own surveys and negotiate thoroughly as the discounts differ from region to region and dealer to dealer.
The market leader, Maruti Suzuki offers discounts on the popular cars Alto, Wagon R, Swift, Ciaz, Celerio, Ignis and Ertiga. The quantum of discount on the Swift is around Rs. 35,000 while it is Rs. 90,000 on the Ciaz diesel car. Unfortunately, the company is not offering any discount on its best selling models; Baleno, Brezza and Desire.
The Korean car maker, Hyundai has launched its “December Delight” discount scheme which covers practically all its models except the Creta SUV which is its top-selling car. Hyundai’s discount offer includes Rs. 90,000 on Grand i10 diesel and Rs. 55,000 on the Elite i20. The offer also includes an infotainment system worth Rs. 10,000 on all variants. Hyundai’s offer is however valid till 25th December, 2017.
The Tata Motors had announced its year end discount offer under the “Mega Offer Max Celebration Campaign.” As per the offer, the ex-showroom price of Hexa has been reduced by Rs. 78,000, Tiago by 26,000, Tigor by 32,000 and Zest by 68,000 while the Tata Storme would enjoy the maximum discount of Rs. 1.00,000. The company has also tied up with financiers to finance 100% price of the cars and help the buyers to drive away their car almost free by paying just Rs. 1.
Honda too has jumped the bandwagon and offers one year insurance free on the Honda City and Rs. 1.5 lakh discount on CR-V. The Zazz offers too include one year free insurance and Rs. 30,000 cash discount.
The Volkswagen, the German manufacturer offers discount and benefits of up to Rs. 1.1 lakh. The Polo model has a cash discount and exchange bonus of up to Rs. 60,000 while the model Vento has a benefit of Rs. 1.1 lakh including a cash discount of Rs. 90,000.
The French car maker Renault discount offer include Rs. 10,000 worth accessories and a finance rate of 7.99% on Kwid. On the Duster AMT, the buyers can get a benefit from cash discounts of Rs. 90,000 and additional exchange bonus and free insurance for one year.
The German luxury car maker Audi has also cut down their prices on its A3, A4, A6 and Q3 in the range of 3 lakh to 8.85 lakh. The company has also come up with another attractive option for the consumers of buying an Audi car under the ‘Audi Rush Scheme’ this month and start paying EMI only from 2019.
