Lexus LS 500h India Launch – Price, Specifications, Features

Lexus, a division of Toyota Motors has recently launched its luxury sedan Lexus LS 500h in India. The Indian launch was held in an event held recently at New Delhi. The Lexus LS 500h is the fifth generation luxury vehicle which was first introduced at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. The flagship limousine has now made its entry into India exactly a year later. The new luxury car, Lexus LS 500h has more radical and aggressive design. The luxury does not come cheaper. The Lexus LS 500h has an intimidating price tag (all ex-showroom),  but it’s not a problem for the luxury lovers.

The Lexus LS 500h has the hybrid powertrains in line with the company’s India policy. The car power comes from a hybrid system comprising of a 3.56 litre V6 petrol engine and two electric motors.  The combined power output of the engine and the two motors is 354Bhp at 6,600 rpm and 350 Nm at 5,100 rpm. The powertrains are mated with 10-speed multi-stage hybrid transmission (ECVT). The car uses multi-link air suspension system with Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management (VDIM) System with ride height control and 6-driving modes.

The car comes with a light weight lithium-ion battery pack, adopted from the space saving construction design used in satellites. The Lexus claims to reach 0-100 kmph speed in just 5.4 seconds.

The LS 500h luxury sedan has been based on the GA-L, the Global Architecture-Luxury platform using the L-finesse design language. The luxury sedan comes with distinctive features including spindle grille up front with a chrome frame, tri-beam LED headlamps with V-shaped LED DLRs and arrow-shaped LED tail lamps. One can find more chrome around and even the window frames and door sills come with shiny coating around.

The car comes with other features such as rain sensing wipers, cruise control, Lexus navigation system, 360-degree bird eye view camera, cornering lamps, 4-zone automatic climate control and rear seat entertainment system. On safety side, the car includes 14 airbags, ABS, Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, heads-up display, tyre pressure indicator and other safety features.

The sedan gets a three-spoke steering multi-functional steering wheel, digital instrument cluster and modern infotainment system deploying a 23-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. The car interior door trim uses Kiriko-cut glass to give a luxurious look. For the enhance comfort, the rear seats have heating provision with massage function. The leg space at the rear is enormous at 1,022 mm to further enhance passenger comfort.

Lexus LS 500h – Rivals

The LS 500h will rival with likes of Mercedes-Maybach S600, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XJ L and Audi A8 L in the market.
