Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have launched the new Honda CB Hornet 160R & Honda CBR 250R in the Indian market. These updated siblings from Honda were showcased by the company at the 2018 Auto Expo.
HMSI has been performing exceptionally well in the Indian market. It has achieved a stunning sales performance during the last financial year recording a two digit growth of 22% over the same period previous year. It has sold 6,123,886 units during the last financial year as against 5,008,230 units sold in the previous year. Thus, the company added more than a million incremental buyers in the year bygone. The star performer in the company’s portfolio was the Honda Activa.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R & Honda CBR 250R – Prices
The Prices of Honda CB Hornet 160R starts from Rs. 84,675 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The bike comes in four variants; Standard, CBS, ABS Standard and ABS Deluxe. The Honda CB Hornet 160R CBS is priced at Rs. 89,175 (Ex-showroom Delhi) whereas the top variant Honda CB Hornet ABS 160R DLX is priced at Rs. 78,500 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Honda CBR 250R has two variants, non-ABS version and ABS version. The non-ABS version is priced at Rs. 1,63,584 (Ex-showroom Delhi) while the ABS version is priced at Rs. 1,93,107 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
New Honda CB Hornet 160R & Honda CBR 250R – Specifications
The new Honda CB Hornet 160R was showcased by the company at the 2018 Auto Expo. The updated version of the bike has added new color options in its portfolio while retaining the styling and updating LED headlamp and various other features. The updates include mechanical as well as visual. In addition to the LED headlamp, the new bike comes with hazard lamp and other features like refreshed instrument cluster with blue backlight, a new low-maintenance seal chain and new additional colors- dazzle Yellow and Metallic added to the existing four color options. The driving power to the bike is delivered by the same 160cc engine churning out 15PS power and 14.5 Nm torque.
Likewise the Honda CB Hornet 160R, the updated new Honda CBR 250R was also showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It has also retained the same design language of the earlier model while adding three new sporty colors – Matte Axis grey Metallic with Mars Orange, Matte Axis grey Metallic with Striking Green, Pearl Sports Yellow and simultaneously updating various other features and LED headlamp. The new Honda CBR 250R comes in two variants, the ABS variant and non-ABS variant. The bike uses the same 249cc liquid cooled single cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve DOHC engine delivering 26.5 PS power at 8,500 rpm and 22.9 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike has PGM fuel injection (FI) system and offers a top speed of the bike is 135 kmph. The braking duty is performed by 296mm disk brake at the front wheel and 220mm disk brake at the rear wheel. The suspension at the front is telescopic suspension while the rear gets pro-link monoshock suspension.
New Honda CB Hornet 160R & Honda CBR 250R – Rivals
The Honda CB Hornet 160R has its nearest rival in the likes of Honda XBlade which has a price tag of Rs. 78,500 (Ex-showroom Delhi) and Yamaha FZ S FI (V2.0) priced at Rs. 82,729 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
The Honda CBR 250R competes in the segment with the likes of KTM RC 200, Yamaha Fazer-25, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and even the new TVS Apache RR 310.
