So, let’s start the list with the India auto maker. Tata Safari Storme features a 2.2 liter Varicor turbo diesel engine. It can make 154 Bhp-400 Nm on tap. We all know that the Scorpio has always been available with 4WD layout. Now, they facelift the model and boost the power and torque. The Scorpio 4 x 4 now produces 320 Nm and 140 Bhp form its 2.2 liter mhawk turbo diesel engine. Mated with a 6 speed manual gearbox.
Starts from Rs 6.13 lakhs, Maruti Gypsy becomes one of the cheapest SUV in India. It is sold with both soft-top and hard-top options. It’s the only petrol 4×4 in this list. The SUV hobbyists call it “mountain goat” because it has great ability to ‘climb up’ the mountain. It’s lightweight and uses 1.3 liter petrol engine. Isuzu D-max V-cross is the most popular lifestyle pickup truck in india. It’s priced at 13.32 lakhs. It has a five speed manual gearbox that able to handle torque transfer functions. It comes with twin airbags and ABS as standard. The diesel engine can produce 134 Bhp along with 320 Nm max torque. It’s available in a single variant that has a four wheel drive transfer case as standard.
A lot of driver says that Thar is practical for daily use. They forget that The Gurkha is a capable off roader that gets a hard-top as standard. The Force Motors product features a 2.6 liter turbo diesel engine. Able to produce 80 Bhp-230 Nm, mated with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Gurkha has a “go-anywhere” ability from its 4×4 transfer case and locking front and rear differentials. Force Gurkha is priced at 8.67 lakhs rupees.
