Upcoming KTM Bikes in India | New KTM Bikes in India 2017-18

Ever since KTM got into a partnership with Bajaj Auto Ltd,  the bike manufacturer has been posting record-breaking sales numbers in India . At present KTM sells 5 models which all come under the premium segment. The bikes are namely– KTM 200 Duke, KTM RC 200, KTM 250 Duke, KTM 390 Duke  and KTM RC 390. KTM definitely has plans to expand its list of products to boost its presence in the Indian motorcycle market. Upcoming New KTM Bikes in India

The journey for KTM has been so far so good. The journey of KTM in India started with the KTM 200 Duke.  The bike found many buyers in India. After the success of this naked bike in India, KTM came up with three more models – the 390 Duke, RC200 and RC390. Quite recently, KTM India launched three new generation Duke models which included the latest versions of 200 Duke and Duke 390 in India. The Austrian bike manufacturer even came up with the new KTM 250 Duke.  KTM now plans to introduce 5 bikes in India in 2017-2018. Here is our list of upcoming KTM bikes in India with their launch, price and specifications.

1) KTM 1190 Adventure R

On its launch next year, KTM 1190 Adventure R would become the flagship model of the manufacturer. The new 1190 Adventure R has the advantage of  Bosch’s new MSC (motorcycle stability control) system. The bike is powered by a  2-cylinder, 4-stroke, 1195cc, spark-ignition, 75° V arrangement, liquid-cooled engine.  The engine comes mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission. This engine churns out a max power of 148 BHP @ 9500 rpm and a peak torque of 125 NM @ 7500 rpm. The bike has a massive fuel tank of 23-litres. The bike is expected to cost Rs 14 lakhs in India. This bike is certainly one of the most promising bikes in our list of upcoming KTM bikes in India.

2) KTM 390 Adventure

The KTM 390 Adventureis expected to hit the Indian market by the end of March 2018. It is expected that the bike will make its debut in India at the Auto Expo 2018. The 390 Adventure is one of the most awaited KTM bikes in India. This bikes is based on the 390 Duke but gets some updates which makes the bike a touring plus a sportsbike. This will make the 390 Adventure the only adventure-tourer in its segment in India. It could carry a sticker price of Rs 2.3 lakh.  The bike should be perfect for high speeds on winding roads due its front fairing with a large windscreen.

3) KTM 1050 Adventure

The KTM 1050 Adventure would make its road to the Indian market as a replacement for the 990 Adventure. The bike will be made in India itself. Therefore it would carry a  sticker price of Rs 10 lakh only. The KTM 1050 in India would offer multiple riding modes. The front suspension duties will be handled by  USD WP forks. While there would be WP monoshock at the rear. The brakes would come from Brembo. The bike would be powered by a  1050cc 75 degree V-twin LC8 engine. The engine would churn out 95 HP. This motorcycle will have to compete with the Triumph Tiger Explorer, Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki Versys 1000 in India.

4) KTM 690 Duke

There is no doubt that the Duke 690 will make an entry into the Indian market. However, KTM has refrained from disclosing any details of the launch in India. The 690 Duke has three driving modes and can reach a top speed of 195 km/hr. It has a superior ground clearance of 192 mm. Coming to its suspensions, The 690 Duke has 43mm of upside down WP forks at front. At the rear it has WP monoshock absorber with a Pro-Lever linkage. The price for this superbike might be more than Rs 4 lakhs in India.

5) KTM RC250

KTM will also be launching the KTM RC250. The KTM RC250 is to the 250 Duke what the RC200 was to 200 Duke and RC 390 to  390 Duke. The Duke 250 is already on sale in India. So, the RC250 should be here sooner than later. It is expected that it would launch in May 2018 with a price of Rs 1.9 lakh. The RC250 would be powered by a  248.8cc fuel-injected, single-cylinder, engine. The transmission duties would be handled by a 6-speed Manual Transmission. This bike could be on display at the Auto Expo in 2018.
