Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Features and Equipments
The new 2018 Maruti Swift gets a tidier design. The dashboard comes with a new flat-bottomed and multi-function steering. The cabin will get a tad more legroom and headroom. The New Swift is bigger than the current model.
When we check other area, we can see that the instrument binnacle gets a twin-pod design that has an analogue display of the speedo and the tachometer. In addition of getting some international specifications feature, this Suzuki Maruti Swift also has climate control unit and infotainment screen with touch screen capability. It might be borrowed from the Baleno.
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Designs
As we mentioned before, the all new Swift will be longer than the present version. It has the shoulder line similar to that of the Baleno as well. The new Suzuki Swift 2018 has higher wheelbase up by 20mm. We all know that the older model was infamous for its crammed rear knee rom. This wheelbase increase could be a boon. The height has been reduced by 15mm. The seats have been lowered as well. It is concluded while headroom won’t be an issue, ingress and egress could be one.
The rear area gets new tail lights with squarish shape. From the rendered images we get, we also can see twin exhaust pipes. Whereas the test mules get one. It hints a possibility of a sportier version that will be offered with the standard model. A sporty Swift is what we can expect.
Overall, the new-generation Swift looks similar to the current type. Except for some parts. Such as a sloping roof line giving it a couple-like profile. The pillar itself gets a black covering giving a floating roof design that looks a lot like the Hyundai i20. Another difference is the rear door handles. In this series, the rear door handles have been repositioned on the rear windows.
From the front-view, we can see that the new type gets and edgy and sharp radiator grille which looks wider and more dominating than the present iteration. The hatchback will also get a new headlight design incorporating daytime running lamps. Along with projector lights. The same lighting features like on the Baleno. The bumper has got a major revision as well to accommodate new fog lamp housing.
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Engine
One of the great news about this new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 is the engine updates. It became viral last week since Maruti Suzuki Swift RS will be equipped with the all-new 3 cylinder turbo-petrol engine making 102PS/150Nm. It accommodates to an increasing of 19PS/35Nm over the 4-cylinder that naturally aspirated 1.2 litre petrol engine of the regular car. This new Boosterjet engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
In India, Maruti is estimated to employ the same 1.2 litre K-Series petrol motor which produces 84.3PS at 6,000 rpm and 115Nm at 4,000rpm. The 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine generates 75PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm. These engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Another possibility is Maruti will offer an optional CVT automatic gearbox, given the rising popularity of such transmissions.
Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Platform
One of the variants weighs as little as 840 kg. So, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 is 120kg lighter than the current model. It may be 25 kg lighter than the lightest Baleno sold in India.
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 model gets a quite big upgrade from the design point of view. The massive update is the machine. If you like the current model, you will love more the new one.
