2018 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift | Price, Specs, Mileage, Features,

Popular Indian UV maker, Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio facelift at a starting price of Rs 9.97 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest facelift model of the Scorpio gets some some minor visual updates. However the specifications of the new Scorpio get tremendous improvement because of the  introduction of a more powerful engine for the higher trims. The facelift will aim to revive the fortunes of the Scorpio in India. It should be noted that the Scorpio has been posting dwindling numbers because of increased heat from the fresher as well as the arguably bette competition. Mahindra hopes to change this with the launch of the facelift.

As mentioned earlier, the new 2018 Mahindra Scorpio facelift gets some minor cosmetic changes both on the exterior as well as the interiors. The exterior now has a Jeep Compass-like grille. It also gets updated bumpers, new fog lamps, and a set of new design alloy wheels. Additionally, the rear door misses out on the black plastic cladding. The interior now gets a new upholstery. The top-end variants get faux leather.  Even on the steering wheel and the gear lever it has got faux leather. Apart from this,  there is a new roof-mounted sunglasses holder. There is absolutely no change in the interior in addition to this.

The specifications  of the Scorpio get a major update in the form of the 2.2-litre Diesel engine. The Scorpio gets this  engine from the XUV500. That sai, this engine is available only on the higher variants. The new engine for the Scorpio churns out a maximum power of 140 BHP and a peak torque of 330 Nm. The engine comes with a  6-speed manual transmission system. A 4wd comes as optional.

The Scorpio is one of the oldesnt in its segment. It has  contributed significantly towards Mahindra’s overall sales figures in the passenger car market. In its good old days, the Scorpio was seen stealing away  limelight from the Tata Safari as well. Times have changed now.  With the launch of smaller SUVs, such as the Renault Duster, and more recently, the Hyundai Creta, saw the Scorpio losing out to the new competition. With the advent of the new 2018 Mahindra Scorpio facelift all this can change.
