There was already some news doing the rounds that DSK-Benelli is getting ready to launch the Tornado 302 sportsbike in in July in India. Now, DSK- Benelli has finally launched the Tornado 302  in India. Bookings for this sportsbike has already started with a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Benelli Tornado 302 India made its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. Now after an year, the sportsbike is finally here. The Tornado 302 carries a stickler price of Rs 3.48 lakh. The new Benelli Tornado 302 is more like a  full-fairing version of the TNT 300 streetnaked which is on sale in India for quite some time now. So, it’s not surprising that the 302 shares a lot with the TNT 300. The Tornado 302 has ABS as a standard feature. It will be powered by the same engine as the TNT 300 i.e a twin-cylinder, 300cc, liquid-cooled engine. The engine churns out 38.8 BHP of peak power and a peak torque of 26.5 Nm. The new Benelli  Tornado 302 India spec is built on a steel-tube trellis frame. The bike would primarily compete with the Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.

The Benelli Tornado 302 is priced at Rs 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom price, pan-India).  At this price point,  the rivals the Tornado 302 will rival with the soon relaunching Yamaha YZF-R3 as well as the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The Tornado comes as a Completely Built Unit to India and hence its price is a bit high. However, the bike is still cheaper than the Kawasaki Ninja 300 (Rs. 3.60 Lakh) and hence has an advantage over it.

The Benelli Tornado gets its engine from the TNT 300. So, the bike gets its power from a 300 cc, twin-pot engine that pumps out a whopping  38.8 BHP of power and 26.5 Nm of torque. The transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox. The suspension system includes a set of inverted forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

The Tornado 300 is powered by the same engine which powers the TNT 300. So, since the engines are same, there won’t be too much difference in the mileage as well. The Benelli Tornado should return a mileage of 30 km/ltr on highways and 25 km/ltr in city conditions.
