MSIL (Maruti Suzuki India Ltd) has launched an automatic transmission model of the top of the line Alpha variant of the petrol Maruti Baleno. The Ex Showroom price of the Maruti Baleno Alpha Automatic model is Rs 8.34 lakh. l Till now the automatic transmission which is a CVT was offered only on the Delta and Zeta trims. The new Alpha AT variant of the Baleno will compete with the top-end automatic models of the Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20. Maruti’s premium Nexa dealerships is selling the new Maruti Baleno Alpha Automatic . This new automatic Baleno has some great high-end features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Mirrorlink and Apple CarPlay. The Baleno is already a very popular car. Now with the petrol automatic version, it should appeal even more to people.

Maruti Baleno Alpha Automatic
There is no doubt that the Maruti Baleno is one of the most popular cars in India as of now. Since it’s launch in 2015, the Maruti has sold more than 2 lakh Baleno’s in India. The average sale of the Baleno per month is about 16,000. Due to the high popularity of the Baleno, the waiting period of the car is sometimes 6 months. Earlier this year Maruti had launched the Baleno RS. The Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre Boosterjet Petrol engine. It ‘s primary rival is the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
Maruti had recently cut down the prices of the Baleno by Rs 13,000. This was due to the implementation of the GST in India, which led to a price cut of most of the cars in this segment. The prices of the Baleno now starts at Rs 5.26 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.42 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices of the Baleno RS were cut down by as much as Rs 32,000 which makes it a great value for money proposition. So, now the ex showroom price of the Baleno RS is Rs 8.37 lakh.

Maruti Baleno Alpha Automatic- Price

Since the GST has been implemented, the ex- showroom price is the same across whole of India. The new Maruti Baleno Alpha Automatic is on sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 8,34,052. So in comparison to the Baleno MT, the new CVT-equipped model costs Rs 1.06 lakh more. The Alhpa variant of the Diesel model, which is only available with a manual transmission , costs Rs 8.42 lakh. Hence the price of the Baleno Alpha Automatic is very close to the price of the Diesel version. The high price of the Baleno Alpha automatic is quite well justified due to the additional feature it offers i.e an automatic transmission.

The Baleno Petrol has a K-series 1.2-litre petrol engine. The engine has brilliant refinement and is very fuel efficient. The engine churns out 83 BHP of peak power and a peak torque of 114 Nm. The automatic transmission in the Alpha variant is actually a CVT. This was so far available only on the Zeta and Delta trims.
